Information/facts related to gaming industry in Macau:

2007 gaming & betting revenue = US$10.4 billion (MOP 83.847 bln) ¡V 46.6% increase from 2006.

Casino gaming generated 99% (MOP 83.02 billion) of total revenue, with baccarat games generating 87.3% of casino games revenue.  Slots generate 4.6% of the total gaming revenue.

VIP revenues generate 67% of the total gaming revenue

4rd quarter 2007:  work force of Macau is 323,000,  ~63,000 (20% of work force) employed by gaming industry, with 20,600 (6% of work force) employed as dealers.

4th quarter 2007:  according to gov¡¦t statistics, overall median monthly employment earnings was MOP7,926 (~US$990).  The median monthly earnings for a dealer is MOP13,511 (~US$1,6880).  The median actual hours worked per week was 46.7 hours.

Venetian Macao Resort largest casino in world, in terms of tables, with 850 tables and 4100 slot machines and employing  ~20,000 people.

End of 2007:  28 casinos w/ 4375 gaming tables (up 58.4%) and 13,267 slots (up 102%).
